Dear Distinguished Members,

Greetings to you all.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all senior members, colleagues, and friends who have continued to support the Taiwan Society of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases. Through everyone’s dedication and collective efforts, the Society has been able to steadily carry forward its mission and activities during these unpredictable and challenging times of the pandemic. Thank you all sincerely.

We would also like to extend our deepest respect and appreciation to all predecessors and professionals who have devoted themselves tirelessly to the clinical care and public health efforts related to tuberculosis and pulmonary diseases. Furthermore, I am deeply grateful to all members for entrusting the current Board of Directors, Supervisors, and myself with this important responsibility. We will uphold the Society’s proud traditions, build upon the achievements of our predecessors, and continue striving forward with unwavering commitment. We also humbly ask for your continued guidance and support.

As the tuberculosis epidemic in Taiwan gradually comes under control, both the general public and healthcare professionals are becoming increasingly unfamiliar with the disease. However, within an aging society, tuberculosis is quietly evolving alongside other pathogens and pulmonary diseases, giving rise to a new range of challenges. Looking ahead, we hope the current Board will work together toward several key directions to overcome these challenges and difficulties one by one:

Promote diversified educational programs on tuberculosis and pulmonary diseases through both in-person and online platforms.

Encourage more young professionals to join the Society and contribute their expertise and energy collectively.

Strengthen collaboration among domestic professionals while connecting with the international community to share Taiwan’s valuable experiences.

Taiwan is fortunate to have a well-established healthcare system, sound public health policies, and outstanding professional expertise. Through the Taiwan Society of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases, we hope to unite our collective strengths to provide younger generations with a platform built upon the shoulders of giants—rooted in Taiwan while embracing the world.
